No Room for School Choice?

According to today's Waxahachie Daily Light, the Italy school board was presented with a video from former Free PAC (Heritage Alliance)-maligned Lt. Gov Bill Ratliff about his organization that praises and lobbies for more funding for public schools. Question: would the same school board be allowed a video presentation on the advocacy of a school choice and/or voucher pilot program?

I wonder how long I'd be allowed to give a presentation on what organizations like Americans For Prosperity have to say about increasing school district-issued debt...

About as much time as I would get in Red Oak ISD for the same thing.

When you finally get elected to something you can bring in whomever you want to talk about whatever you want

As any economist knows, there are good debts and bad debts.

Going into debt to buy a house is a good debt. Charging something you don't need, on impulse, is a bad debt, you see.

Like the G.I. Bill, I'd say public education is a good debt and benefits us all. Of course, if you desire to send your spawn to a Baptist Madrassa, more power to you. Just don't burden the taxpayers with what is, in this case, an extraordinary bad debt in every possible way.
