Midlothian Murder Case on A&E?
A friend from Grapevine Instant Messaged me the other day telling me about an A&E Cold Case episode that mentioned Midlothian, Texas. I haven't seen the episode and we're not allowed to have cable at school, but here's the link to the results for "Cold Case Midlothian, Texas."
Prosecutors' Salaries
Thanks to the open records request reply from County Auditor Mike Navarro, I was able to find out how many assistant prosecutors we have and what they make. Personally, I find the salaries of some of those attorneys pathetic. I figured they would be paid a lot more than that...
Note: Grubbs is paid by the state ($100,000+) but is paid for specific county attorney duties.

Don Maxfield worth $95,696.00 per year? What?
He is worth that if gas is worth $100.00 per gallon and a loaf of bread is $25.00....
There is much to be said about this department...but most of it has already been said...;it is a sad and pathetic organization that plays with the lives of Ellis County citizens with no regard for justice.
Hopefully the day will come when this will change.
What specifically do these people do? How many people does it take to sign on to a plea bargain? I believe they really only need two people in that department. One to look like a good politician and sign the "official documentation" and another to be the "general flunky". As a victim I believe you could save the county a TON of cash and get the exact same results. That's all the DA's office cares about anyway is the bottom line.
